Many children can recite the six articles of faith by name but cannot explain what a single one of them means. This…
View courseLooking for Islam classes for women that fit around real life, not a rigid timetable or a mixed classroom? Duha Quran Academy's Islamic Studies Course for Women & Sisters is a structured, live online course taught by qualified female teachers (Ustadhahs), designed to start from where you are today.
Whether you are new to formal study or returning to your Deen after years away, this comprehensive Islamic course covers essential knowledge: Islamic belief, everyday Fiqh, the life of the Prophet ﷺ, and an introduction to understanding the Quran.
6–9This structured online course brings essential Islam courses together in one clear path, covering four areas of knowledge: Aqeedah (Islamic belief), Fiqh (the practical rulings of worship and family life), Seerah (the life and character of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ), and Quranic literacy (understanding the meaning and themes of the Quran you already recite).
Classes are live and one-on-one. Your tutor works from a diagnostic assessment of your recitation and builds a personal plan around your actual weaknesses — not a generic lesson order.
There is plenty of Islamic content online: lectures, podcasts, playlists, and PDF summaries. What many sisters look for is structure: a progressive course, taught by qualified female teachers in a private setting, and built around the life of a sister who is also managing a family, work, and everything else.
Every session is led by a qualified, certified Ustadhah. Many sisters feel more comfortable asking questions and learning openly with a teacher who shares their experience of practising Islam as a woman.
Every lesson is a live video session. There is no campus and no commute: you join from wherever you are comfortable.
Sessions are available in the morning, afternoon, and evening, seven days a week. If a week becomes difficult, you can reschedule without losing your place in the curriculum.
The course follows a defined syllabus with clear learning outcomes, module assessments, and a certified Ustadhah who tracks your progress from enrolment to completion.
Many sisters complete all four modules in four to eight months. You and your Ustadhah agree a realistic pace at the start and revisit it at the beginning of each module.
Meet your teacher, experience the teaching style, and ask your questions before you decide. There is no obligation and no payment required.
One free trial class shows you more than a page of promises — bring a passage and leave with real corrections.
Book Free TrialThe course has four progressive modules, each building on the last. Whether you join as a complete beginner or return after a long gap, every module is self-contained, so you gain usable knowledge at each stage, not only at the end.
This module covers the beliefs everything else rests on: the six pillars of Iman, the attributes of Allah, and the core tenets of sound Islamic belief. Lessons connect Aqeedah to questions sisters face today, such as how to explain your beliefs to your children, colleagues, or anyone who asks.
Here the course moves from what you believe to how you practise. You cover the Fiqh of Taharah (purification), Salah, Sawm, Zakat, and Hajj, with attention to the rulings that apply to women, including ritual purity, prayer during illness and travel, and the practical Fiqh of managing a household.
The Seerah is not just history; it is the living model for everything in the first two modules. You study the key stages of the Prophet's ﷺ life, the ethical framework of early Muslim society, and the Islamic principles that guide relationships, communication, and community. Particular attention goes to the women of early Islam, Khadijah, Aisha, and Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with them), and the female scholars among the Companions (Sahabah).
The final module draws the earlier modules together through the Quran. You study Surahs you already recite and learn their themes, occasions of revelation, and central messages, bridging the gap between recitation and understanding. This is not a Tajweed or Hifz course; it is a meaning-and-context module. By the end, you can return to any Surah studied and explain what it says, why it was revealed, and how it connects to the Aqeedah and Fiqh from earlier modules.
Finishing this course means finishing with applied knowledge, not only exposure to topics: you can explain and apply what you have learned in your own life and share it with your family. Your Ustadhah checks each outcome at the end of the relevant module before you move on.
You can explain the six pillars of Iman, identify the sources of Islamic belief, tell authentic belief apart from common misconceptions, and answer questions from your children and others with grounded knowledge. You also understand why Aqeedah is the foundation of every act of worship.
You can look at a real situation, such as prayer while travelling, purification after childbirth, or fasting while breastfeeding, identify the relevant ruling and its basis, and know where to look when a situation is less clear-cut. This gives you a working understanding of Fiqh, not just a list of rulings to memorise.
You can place the key events of the Prophet's ﷺ life on a timeline, draw ethical lessons from each phase, and name the female scholars of early Islam and their contributions. You can use the Seerah as a reference point when you face questions in family life, community, or personal practice.
You can approach Surahs you recite, such as Al-Fatiha and the opening verses of Al-Baqarah, and understand their meanings, context, and links to the beliefs and rulings covered in the course. This does not replace Tajweed or Hifz; it bridges the gap between reciting the Quran and understanding it.
You can speak about your Deen with a curious colleague, a family member with doubts, or your children, using accurate vocabulary and references, and you know where to turn when a question needs a scholar.
Your final session includes a one-to-one review with your Ustadhah of what you have mastered, what to revisit, and your natural next step, such as a Hifz course, a deeper Fiqh specialisation, a Tajweed course, or an Arabic language course.
Your first lesson is free, with no commitment.

No prior formal study is required. The course is built for sisters who are starting from the foundations, whether you are a complete beginner or someone returning to structured Deen education after a long gap, Module One begins at the level you are actually at.
Yes, without exception. Every session in the Duha Quran Academy Islamic Studies Course For Women & Sisters is taught by a qualified female teacher (Ustadhah). There are no male instructors in this program, and all live group interactions remain all-female throughout.
Most sisters complete all four modules in four to eight months, depending on session frequency and personal pace. At enrolment, your Ustadhah will agree a realistic target timeline with you, and revisit it at the start of each module so the schedule continues to match your life.
Sessions are available across multiple time slots seven days a week, including early morning and late evening slots. If you need to reschedule or pause for a period, you can do so without losing your curriculum position. Sisters managing families and work schedules are the norm here, not the exception.
This is a full, structured four-module curriculum with defined outcomes and ongoing assessment, not a crash course. However, sisters who need to cover the essentials in a shorter timeframe can discuss an accelerated session schedule with their Ustadhah at enrolment. The depth of the material is the same; only the pacing changes.
Yes. Sisters who complete all four modules and meet the assessment criteria receive a course completion certificate from Duha Quran Academy.
Your Ustadhah will also provide a written summary of your learning journey and a clear recommended next step, whether that is a Hifz program, a Tajweed course, an Arabic language course, or a deeper Fiqh specialization, so you always know where you are going next.
