COURSE OVERVIEW

How to Perform Prayer for Kids, Step by Step

The Salah (Prayer) Course for Kids is a clear, practical guide to how to pray in Islam, taught one step at a time. Your child begins by learning why Muslims pray, the names of the five daily prayers, and how to prepare with wudu, clean clothes, and facing the Qiblah. They then practise each position of Salah in order, from the opening Takbir to the closing salam, while learning Surah Al-Fatihah, short surahs, and the words of ruku’, sujud, and the tashahhud, along with what each one means. Finally, they put it all together, learning how many rak’ahs each prayer has and building up to all five prayers with a simple prayer chart.

Classes are live and one-on-one. Your tutor works from a diagnostic assessment of your recitation and builds a personal plan around your actual weaknesses — not a generic lesson order.

  • Diagnostic recitation & personal plan in week one
  • Theory always followed by applied tilawah
  • Graduation into the Practical or Ijazah track

HOW THE COURSE IS STRUCTURED

How the Salah (Prayer) Course for Kids Is Structured

The course is organised into four modules that take your child from preparing for prayer to praying all five daily prayers. In every lesson, the teacher demonstrates a step, your child practises it [on camera], and the teacher gently corrects it.

1

Getting Ready to Pray

Learn why Muslims pray, the names and times of the five daily prayers, and what the call to prayer means. Practise wudu step by step on camera, and learn about clean clothes, a clean prayer space, and facing the Qiblah.

2

The Steps of Salah

Practise the Salah steps for kids in order, from the opening Takbir and standing to ruku’, sujud, sitting, and the closing salam. Your teacher watches each movement on camera and gently corrects it until it feels natural.

3

The Words of Salah

Learn Surah Al-Fatihah and short surahs such as Al-Ikhlas and Al-Kawthar with correct pronunciation. Learn the words said in ruku’, sujud, and the tashahhud, and the simple meaning of every phrase.

4

Praying Five Times a Day

Learn how many rak’ahs each prayer has, from two at Fajr to four at Isha, and how to pray five times a day. Build the habit gradually with a prayer chart, starting with one prayer a day and growing to all five.

WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE

What Your Child Will Achieve Through Salah

By the end of the course, your child will be able to prepare for prayer, follow the steps of Salah in order, and recite what is said in each position.

Make Wudu on Their Own

Your child will perform wudu in the correct order, from washing the hands to washing the feet. They will know when wudu is needed and how to prepare for prayer independently.

They will learn that prayer is more than a set of movements, helping them develop a meaningful and positive attitude toward Salah.

Pray Every Step Correctly

Your child will follow the Salah steps for kids in order, from the opening Takbir to the closing salam. Each movement is practised and corrected until it feels natural.

Through guided practice, they will become more familiar with the movements and gradually gain confidence in performing Salah correctly.

Recite Al-Fatihah and Short Surahs

Your child will recite Surah Al-Fatihah and short surahs clearly, with correct pronunciation. They will say the words of ruku’, sujud, and the tashahhud in the right place.

Breaking the recitations into manageable lessons makes it easier for children to remember them and connect them with the appropriate prayer movements.

Understand What They Say

Your child will know the simple meaning of the words they say in Salah, such as “Subhana Rabbiyal A’la”, glory be to my Lord, the Most High. Understanding turns prayer for kids into a real conversation with Allah.

These practical habits give children the foundation they need to prepare for Salah independently as they grow.

Know the Five Daily Prayers

Your child will name the five prayers in order and know how many rak’ahs each one has. They will understand when each prayer comes during the day.

With regular practice, children can become more comfortable recognizing and performing each prayer as part of their everyday Islamic life.

Build a Daily Prayer Habit

Your child will move from one prayer a day toward all five, tracking their progress on a prayer chart. They will grow to love Salah and feel proud praying with the family.

The goal is to help children move from watching and repeating to confidently applying the steps of Salah in their own prayer routine.
