View courseDuha Quran Academy's Tazkiyah (Spiritual Development) Course for Women & Sisters is taught by qualified female teachers (Ustadhahs) in live, one-to-one online sessions, from the comfort of your home and on a schedule that fits your life.
Tazkiyah is the Islamic science of purifying the soul and strengthening your relationship with Allah from the inside out, rooted in the Quran (91:9)..
6–9The Tazkiyah (Spiritual Development) Course for Women & Sisters is a structured, live online course that guides sisters through the Islamic science of purifying and elevating the soul (Tazkiyah Al-Nafs).
You do not need any prior knowledge of Arabic or Islamic studies to enrol. Starting from the foundations, what Tazkiyah means and why the Quran emphasises it, the course moves step by step through the core states of the heart: repentance (Tawbah), patience (Sabr), gratitude (Shukr), reliance on Allah (Tawakkul), contentment (Rida), sincerity (Ikhlas), and awareness of Allah (Muraqabah), supported by self-accountability (Muhasabah).
There is a lot of Tazkiyah content online. What Duha offers is the combination of scholarly grounding, an all-female environment, live personal attention, and a clear structure. The course is taught by female teachers, for sisters, in a space where you can be honest about where you are spiritually without fear of judgement.
Every session is led by a female Ustadhah, and student support and progress reviews are handled by female staff.
The course draws on the Quran, the authentic Sunnah, and classical works by Imam Al-Ghazali, Ibn Al-Qayyim, and Imam Al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on them), explained by your Ustadhah in clear, contemporary language.
Sessions run in the mornings, evenings, and weekends, or any mix that works for you. Whether you are a mother, a professional, or a student, you can choose times around your availability and reschedule when needed.
In a one-to-one class, your Ustadhah knows where you are in the material and what you are working on, and adapts each session to what you need.
Join from wherever you are comfortable, whether that is your kitchen or a quiet room during your lunch break. There is no travel and no group setting.
You are matched with an Ustadhah whose background and teaching style suit you, and if the fit is not right after your trial class, we will introduce you to another.
One free trial class shows you more than a page of promises — bring a passage and leave with real corrections.

You begin by learning what Tazkiyah Al-Nafs means, its Quranic basis, its place in the Prophetic Sunnah, and why it is an essential part of practising Islam, not an optional extra. You also learn the difference between knowledge of the heart and action of the heart, and how the course addresses both in every session.
This module looks at the conditions that block spiritual growth, including Riya' (showing off), Kibr (arrogance), Hasad (envy), and excessive attachment to the Dunya (worldly life). You and your Ustadhah identify which of these you need to work on and map a realistic, Islamically grounded plan to address them.
With the diseases of the heart identified, this module turns to cultivation. You study and begin to practise the seven core stations of Tazkiyah: Tawbah, Sabr, Shukr, Tawakkul, Rida, Ikhlas, and Muraqabah. Each station comes with its Quranic evidence, a practical exercise, and a Muhasabah (self-accountability) tool to use between sessions, so progress continues outside class time.
The final module answers a common question: how do I keep this going? You build a personalised Wird (daily spiritual routine) that fits your family situation, working hours, and current level of practice. By the end, you have a routine and a set of tools you can keep using after the course.
Every session is designed so you leave with something practical: tools, a personal framework, and steps you can apply to your Salah, your relationships, and your everyday decisions. Each outcome below is something you can show or explain.
Map Your Own Spiritual State: In the early sessions, your Ustadhah guides you through a structured self-assessment that produces a personal spiritual map. You can identify which spiritual states are strong in you and which need attention, and use the map to focus the rest of the course.
Explain and Practise the Seven Core Stations: You can explain each of the seven stations (Tawbah, Sabr, Shukr, Tawakkul, Rida, Ikhlas, and Muraqabah) with its Quranic evidence, and you will have practised each one through an exercise and discussed it with your Ustadhah.
Build a Daily Wird You Can Maintain: In Module Four, you and your Ustadhah co-design a Wird calibrated to your timetable, obligations, and current spiritual baseline. Because it is built around your life rather than a fixed template, it is easier to keep up.
Recognise and Address Spiritual Blocks: You can name Riya', Kibr, Hasad, and excessive attachment to the Dunya, trace how each shows up in your own behaviour, and use Islamically grounded tools to address them.
Bring More Presence to Your Salah: Your Ustadhah introduces Dhikr practices and pre-Salah mindfulness techniques across the course to support Khushu' (presence and humility in prayer), and you practise them in your own Salah between sessions.
Share What You Learn With Your Family: You will have the vocabulary and understanding to talk about purification of the soul with your children, husband, or close sisters in a practical and grounded way
